Wage & Benefits Survey
The annual CVI Wage & Benefits Survey provides comprehensive pay
practice and salary data for employers throughout Central Virginia covering company wage structure
and pay practices, current year/projected base pay increases, current
year/projected incentive/variable pay, and detailed salary and range
data.
Do you need an objective tool to justify your organization's compensation levels compared with other businesses in Region 2000? Are you unsure how to set appropriate pay and benefits for staff and new hires? Our Wage & Benefits Survey provides objective salary and benefit information.
Salary surveys benefit companies by:
-
Providing job classification data. The basis of a good compensation plan begins with a thorough job analysis and the development of job descriptions.
-
Salary surveys provide information on benchmark jobs, which are positions that are similar in all companies.
-
They establish pay ranges. A flat structured organization is the growing trend in many companies. Instead of promotion oportunities, these companies utilize broadbanding, which is the compression of several job descriptions into broad pay ranges. Unlike traditional pay ranges, broadbanding focuses on high performance in existing job roles. There are not many promotional opportunities, only more opportunities to grow an existing position and to add more responsibilities and more compensation. In the broadband pay structure, there are usually five or six levels in the organization and all employees fall within those bands.
-
Establish minimum salaries. Salary surveys provide analytical data on salary ranges based on skill and industry. This is particularly helpful for new companies that need to compare the market minimum pay ranges to their compensation plans and determine if they are recruiting candidates within the minimum to median pay ranges.
