Manufacturing Shift Supervisor

Position Summary:This exempt position reports to the Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for the supervision of non-exempt, hourly employees in a manufacturing environment.  The expected work schedule is a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Summary of Key Duties / Responsibilities:
Directs the activities of employees engaged in manufacturing activities, including but not limited to training and supervising, managing work schedules, providing one-on-one counseling and coaching of employees to accomplish team goals and corrective actions to address problems; and  maintaining a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and established policies and procedures.

Maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees throughout the shift to ensure effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions in consultation with Operations Manager.Resolves employee issues through immediate problem and conflict resolution.

Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.

Assigns necessary manpower to support production schedule demands on a daily basis; and supervises production line set-up including butnot limited to trials and adjusting line equipment prior to operation to ensure that production line starts in accordance with established production schedule.

Oversees product quality data collection and efficient data tracking in order to meets company's and customer's quality standards.

Works with other production shift supervisors to resolve daily production issues; and monitors and reports daily production results, material usage, waste, downtime, and equipment problems to the appropriate Operations and Plant Manager.

All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Prefer a B.S. Degree in a technical field, or 3 to 5 years of progressive manufacturing experience and responsibilities, 3of which must be in a supervisory capacity.

Requires broad technical experience in a manufacturing environment.

Prefer candidate with a thorough knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment.
